I'm a former psychology student, turned chef, turned craftsman.
What a winding road.
There is one thing that all three have in common, however.
That is the attention to detail .
I started this business to, not only do what I love, what I was doing on my own anyways, but to help others find that special impossible-to-find thing that is missing in their home like I have always done for myself.
To create something with a quality standard that is often missing in our ever quickening gotta-have-it-now world. I LOVE the details. I LOVE crafting something that hasn't ever been made before.
I'm Nick. Nice to meet you.
For as long as I can remember, I've had this creative drive. From cooking to woodworking, I have always had an urge to create. There is something so rewarding about starting with nothing but raw materials and turning it into something beautiful.
I started small. I worked on building things we needed around the house. I learned new techniques. I became a full-time student of woodworking. After getting some positive feedback for the projects I had completed, I decided I would take the advice of others and sell some of my work. Having gained the attention of some local craftsmen and after collaborating on some projects and learning what to do and, even more-so, what not to do, I decided it was time to create my own shop.
After many months, things really started to take off. What was once a single person toiling away in his garage, has grown into a business with a few employees. We aren't a thriving mega-store but we get by just fine and I, for one, like the small business world. Getting to know my customers personally. All of their needs and concerns addressed from the first step.
In this line of work, your ability to cut and shape wood is only part of the equation. You need to have a drive to HELP people. I don't just want you to order from me to receive a product. I want you to feel satisfied that what we collaborated on (that custom table or one-of-a-kind dog bed) is an experience that simply cannot be replicated in a store.
